Kharge said that the thinking was to have such a Parliament in which there would be no opposition. If there had been such thinking, then the post of deputy speaker would not have been vacant for the first time in the 17th Lok Sabha. Today, we talk about democracy, there is a provision in the constitution of a law, deputy speaker, chairman, deputy chairman, you kept that post vacant for 5 years.

The election results showed who was stronger
Kharge asked whether you are working under the Constitution. You say outside that you are working under the Constitution but you do the opposite. There is no direction in the President’s address. In the same Rajya Sabha, the PM had said with pride that one person is stronger than all. But I want to ask how many people are stronger than one person, in the Parliament and here. But the election results have shown that the Constitution of the country and the people are stronger than all. There is no place for arrogant slogans in democracy.

Kharge further said that lakhs of people used to come there to pay tribute, but out of fear you put the statues of great men in a corner where protests take place. Whose statue? Mahatma Gandhi who gave us freedom, Bhimrao Ambedkar who made the constitution, Chhatrapati Maharaj, what do you want to show by pushing such people to the back. We fought for that.
