Yes, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently announced that four villages in the state have received the prestigious ‘Best Tourism Village’ award given by the Union Ministry of Tourism. According to reports, these villages will be awarded for their contribution to rural tourism on International Tourism Day during a ceremony in New Delhi. For information, the four villages selected for this award include Jakhol and Harsil from Uttarakhshi, Seemant Gunji from Pithoragarh and Supi from Nainital. Each village has been recognized for its unique tourism. While Jakhol has been selected for its adventure tourism, Harshil and Seemant Gunji have been recognized as Vibrant Villages. Apart from this, Supi in Nainital will get the award for promoting agricultural tourism.

Jakhol : Jakhol village is a beautiful village located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Located at an altitude of about 7,200 feet above sea level, the village offers panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and lush green trees. Jakhol is famous for its peaceful environment, traditional wooden houses, terraced fields and the behavior of the local people.

Harsil: Harsil is an untouched and hidden gem of the state of Uttarakhand, which makes a perfect place for those looking for peace and beauty in the lap of the Himalayas. The village is located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River at an altitude of 2620 meters above sea level. In recent years, this small village has become popular among adventure and nature lovers.

Marginal Gunji: Gunji is a small village in Dharchula tehsil of Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. It is located near the border of Tibet and Nepal. This village is 65 km away from the sub-district headquarters Dharchula. Talking about its height, this village is located at an altitude of 3,500 meters.

Supi Village: Supi village is located in Nainital tehsil of Nainital district of Uttarakhand. It is located 45 km from Nainital, which is both the district and sub-district headquarters of Supi village. As per 2009 data, Supi village is also a gram panchayat.
