NEET 2023: The National Medical Council (NMC) has prepared a draft of changes in the rules of Graduate Medical Education Regulation. According to the changed rules, students will now be given only one chance in the NEET counseling to take admission in MBBS. Yes, as per the prepared draft, candidates will have to choose their preferred college in a single round. NMC has sought opinion of different parties on this issue. According to media reports, the reason behind this decision is to fill maximum seats. Let us tell you that according to this decision, it has to be ensured that maximum number of seats can be filled during the counselling.
English language will be compulsory
Let us tell you that even after three rounds of counseling last year, 4,299 MBBS seats, 1,280 BDS seats and 352 BSC Nursing seats remained vacant in Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-up round. The commission has been receiving complaints of malpractices in the latter process.
While Madhya Pradesh and other states are making efforts to promote medical education in Hindi, the commission has not made any language-related changes in this draft. The compulsion of English has not been abolished for admission in medical.
There was also a change in tie breaking policy.
Let us tell you that according to the new draft, any student will be able to get his/her transfer done only in a special condition. Students will be able to transfer from government college to government college and from private college to private college only. Along with this, also keep in mind that on getting the same marks, the rank will be given according to the tie breaking policy. As per the new draft, when two candidates get equal marks, they will be ranked on the basis of their marks obtained in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
