There will be no lunch break in Delhi University, 8 hours of back to back classes! You will be stunned to hear the reason

There will be no lunch break in Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) now. Back to back classes will continue here for 8 hours continuously. DSEU has removed the lunch break from its timetable. According to the recent notification issued by the university, the lunch break from 12:30 pm to 1 pm has now been abolished. This university has courses like BSc (Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy), Medical and Laboratory Science, apart from BBA in Facility and Hygiene Management.

Have lunch in 5 minutes

According to the official, the university students are adults and they can manage five minutes between two periods for lunch. However, the students have opposed this and have raised strong objections.

According to the students, lunch break was included in the time table. Now the university has removed the lunch break from the new time table. Back to back classes have been started from 9 am to 5 pm. No reason is being given for this. Students allege that lunch break has been removed from the time table of all 22 DSEU campuses in Delhi.

Centralized timetable made under NEP

At the same time, according to the DSEU official, the lunch break has been removed from the timetable because a centralized timetable has been prepared for all campuses under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Teachers have been asked to leave their period five minutes early so that students can have lunch before the next class. There is no need to keep a half-hour lunch.

Directors of all campuses have been told that if their slots allow them, they can keep a lunch break. With the centralized timetable, students will be able to attend classes by going to the DSEU campus near their home. They will benefit from the common timetable. Classes in DSEU run in shifts. The first batch of students ends at 1:30 pm. In such a situation, these students do not need a lunch break. Because after 1:30 pm they can go to their homes.
