There will be a ban on protesting at the Parliament gate, Speaker gave instructions after scuffle among MPs


New Delhi: An important decision has been taken after the chaos and uproar between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and opposition MPs at the Makar Gate of the Parliament House on Thursday morning. According to sources, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has issued strict instructions that no MP should be allowed to protest at any gate of the Parliament House.

According to media reports, Speaker Birla has also issued instructions to all MPs not to block any entrance of Parliament or protest. MPs from NDA and opposition Bharatiya Janata Party took out separate protest marches on Thursday morning on the BR Ambedkar issue. The situation worsened when both of them came face to face outside the Parliament House. This led to a scuffle and BJP MP Pratap Sarangi got injured.

he/she was taken to hospital with a forehead injury. BJP MPs alleged that Sarangi was pushed by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. Another BJP MP Mukesh Rajput was also injured, the party said. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi later told reporters that when he/she was trying to enter Parliament House, BJP members pushed and threatened him/her.

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned following the opposition’s uproar demanding an apology from Home Minister Amit Shah for his/her remarks on BR Ambedkar. On the other hand, Delhi Police registered an FIR against Rahul Gandhi after a complaint from BJP. BJP had filed a complaint against Rahul accusing him/her of ‘physical attack and instigation’.
