Indian team for Champions Trophy 2025: The last date to declare the team for Champions Trophy is 12th January. The announcement of this team can decide the future of many Indian cricketers.

The Indian team for the Champions Trophy is to be announced on January 12.

New Delhi. After the crushing defeat in the last few months, the pressure on Indian cricket greats to retire is increasing. Ravichandran Ashwin has said goodbye. Now the maximum pressure is on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Everyone is counting the advantages and disadvantages of his/her retirement. But there is less talk of pressure of an all-rounder. This all-rounder is none other than Ravindra Jadeja, who saved India from defeat in the Brisbane Test. Jadeja, who has retired from T20 cricket, will hardly get a chance in ODI matches.

The Indian team has to play T20 and ODI series against England from 22 January. After this there is ICC Champions Trophy from 19th February. The last date to declare the team for the Champions Trophy is 12th January. India has to play all its matches in UAE. In such a situation, India will definitely give place to at least 3 spinners in its team. Despite this, Ravindra Jadeja does not seem to be getting a place in the team.

If India selects 4 batsmen and 2 wicketkeepers in the 15-member team, then there will be space for an additional all-rounder. If this happens, Ravindra Jadeja can make a place in the team. If the Indian team goes with 5 specialist batsmen, then Jadeja’s position appears to be in danger. One reason for this is that the Indian team management is promoting young players a lot these days. Keeping Ravichandran Ashwin out and giving place to Washington Sundar in the playing eleven is proof of this.

Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav are contenders to be selected in the Indian team as spin all-rounders and spinners. For some time now, Axar Patel has started being given preference over Ravindra Jadeja in ODI matches. In such a situation, if India includes 3 spinners in the playing eleven, then they could be Akshar Patel, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav. This means that it is also possible that Jadeja may be selected in the team but he/she may not get a place in the playing eleven.

36-year-old Ravindra Jadeja has played 197 ODIs, 80 Tests and 74 T20 matches for India. Now, if a player who has been playing for the country for 15 years is not able to make a place in the playing eleven, then it would not be surprising if he/she starts thinking about retirement. But even if this happens, it will be only for ODI format. Ravindra Jadeja’s place in the team in Test cricket seems secure. he/she is now used as a batting all-rounder. Jadeja can be seen batting at number six against England in June also. Yes, he/she seems to be losing his/her place in the ODI team.

India’s probable team: Rohit Sharma (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul/Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh/Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dubey/Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav/Ravi Bishnoi, Jasprit Bumrah/Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh.
