New Delhi. Cricket fans always compare Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Hitman Rohit is believed to play faster than his/her partner King Kohli. But former Australia captain Aaron Finch believes something else. Aaron Finch said that Virat Kohli has a skill to score a better strike-rate like any batter, but the batting lineup of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) does not allow him/her. he/she also compared Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Aaron Finch, who has won the T20 World Cup to Australia, said that players like Rohit Sharma are constantly playing more risky cricket. Due to this, their strike rate is high, but there is a lack of continuity in the performance. Virat Kohli, however, has broken the myth of batting slow by scoring 741 runs at a strike rate of 140 in 2023 and 154.70 in 2024.
When Aaron Finch was asked whether Virat Kohli needs to change his/her game to give full benefit to RCB. Aaron Finch, who is associated with ‘Giostar’ as an expert, told ‘PTI’, ‘My question is that you want to see 700 or 800 runs in Kohli (IPL) session or will you be happy with 400 runs from them? If you expect to bat at a more strike rate, then their continuity will decrease.
Before the start of the 18th season of IPL, Aaron Finch said, ‘Therefore I don’t think there is a need to make a big change in it. Perhaps this is like changing the speed slightly. I will expect a big innings from him/her. And then you start making your team around someone like this.
Rohit Sharma’s IPL strike rate is also like Kohli but he/she has batted with more aggressive attitude for the last few years. Finch termed Rohit’s case separate from Kohli and said, ‘When you look at Rohit’s performance, look at the players around him/her. he/she has a player around whom the team can bat. In such a situation, it is fine for him/her to hit a lot of sixes in the early overs. The team of Mumbai Indians has players like Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma in the top and middle order. Finch said that Rohit can take this risk for India because Kohli is with him/her in the team. Former Australian opener said, ‘Rohit decided to take an aggressive stand as Virat bats at number three. he/she has a player who has the ability to fix his/her mistake. (Input PTI)
