One of the famous temples of Varanasi, Tulsi Manas Mandir, also known as Tulsi Birla Manas Mandir, is located in Durgakund, very close to the Durga Temple in the city of Varanasi. This temple was built in 1964 with white marble, around which beautiful gardens have also been created. The temple also has beautiful sculptures of Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman.

This temple is believed to be built at the same place where the famous and great Indian epic Ramcharitmanas was composed by Saint Goswami Tulsidas. Many quatrains of Ramcharitmanas can also be seen on the wall of the temple. When was the temple built

People say that this temple used to be small earlier. In the year 1964, Seth Ratanlal Sureka, a businessman from Kolkata, got this temple constructed. The temple was inaugurated by the then President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. On one side of the temple there are Mata Annapurna and Lord Shiva and on the other side there is also a temple of Lord Satyanarayan. Tulsi Manas Temple is made of white marble and has carvings of verses and scenes from Ramcharitmanas. The carvings have been done in such a way that the devotees visiting here can know about the story in a visual form while roaming around the temple.

Tulsi Manas Temple opens from 5:30 am to 12 noon and from 3:30 pm to 9 pm. If you want to participate in Aarti, you can reach the temple between 6 am in the morning and 4 pm in the evening. Timings may change due to season and festival, so after reaching Varanasi, be aware of the temple in advance.

To go to Tulsi Manas Temple, you will have to reach Varanasi Cantt Railway Station and go to Durgakund. There is a temple near Durgakund, located at a distance of 7 km from the station. Apart from the crowded environment of Banaras, this temple is considered a symbol of peace.
