There is no scope for voter list, EVM and results, Chief Election Commissioner again repeated

New Delhi: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar emphasized the credibility of the Election Commission’s election process. he/she informed that millions of election officials are involved in data feeding and in case of any disturbance there is a provision for red flag in the system. Therefore, there is no scope for disturbances in the system of Election Commission for management of voter list, deployment of EVMs, voting percentage and results. This statement came at a time when the Congress questioned the increase in the number of voters between the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and Maharashtra Assembly elections held after five months.

‘Election data cannot make mistake in feeding’

Atlas includes data for previous general elections, based on the Database of the Election Commission. The Chief Electoral Officer said that about 10-10.5 lakh election officials feed the data. So many people can be involved in this, according to the design, nothing can be wrong. he/she further said that if someone makes a mistake in data feeding, the system will show red flag. This ensures that the electoral process is transparent and reliable.

Crores of election officials are involved in conducting elections

Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said that the Election Commission has only 586 employees, while about 2 crore election officials, security personnel and agents of political parties are involved in holding the Lok Sabha elections. This huge workforce plays an important role in running elections smoothly.

Please tell that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were held in seven phases. It had 97.98 crore registered voters, out of which 64.64 crore (66.10 percent) cast their votes at 10.5 lakh polling stations. A total of 8,360 candidates were in the fray for 543 Lok Sabha seats. These included 800 female candidates, 7,554 male candidates and six third gender candidates.
