There is no one like ‘Jassi’, very lethal and economical, never gave more than 50 runs in entire T20I career

New Delhi. Due to the ‘low standard’ pitches of America and West Indies, the T20 World Cup 2024 has not been able to reach the heights as expected. The pitches of this season of the tournament have so far proved to be a problem for the batsmen. It would probably not be appropriate to call them ‘bowler friendly’ because it is becoming very difficult to score runs due to the ‘uneven bounce’ and ‘double pace’ of most of the wickets. Not only this, batsmen are also getting injured on the wickets of New York. The struggle of the batsmen for runs is such that in the 20 matches played so far, only one team- Australia has been able to score more than 200 runs. The much-awaited ‘Mahamukabala’ of arch rivals India and Pakistan (India vs Pakistan) on Sunday also remained low scoring due to bad wicket. This match could not give the full fun of the game but the way Team India defended the score of 119 runs has definitely given immense happiness to the Indian fans.

Jasprit Bumrah was the hero of the victory
Of course, Rishabh Pant played an innings of 42 runs with the help of 6 fours in 31 balls on a difficult wicket for batting, but if there was one hero of the Indian victory, then it was Jasprit Bumrah. ‘Jassi’ raised the hopes of the Indian camp in the match by bowling out Rizwan, the troubleshooter of the Pakistani team, which was moving strongly towards the target, after scoring 80 runs after losing four wickets in 14 overs, and then turned the match in India’s favor by dismissing the dangerous Iftikhar Ahmed as well. Along with proving to be lethal, he/she was also very economical as always. Due to not getting runs easily, the Pakistani batsmen came under pressure and started losing wickets. Arshdeep Singh did not let Bumrah’s brilliant bowling go waste. In the last over, Pakistan needed 18 runs to win, but this left-handed bowler took the wicket of Imad Wasim along with giving 11 runs and Pakistan The innings stopped at 113 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

‘Jassi’s’ two overs turned the match in India’s favour

The 19th over of the innings bowled by Bumrah can be considered the ‘turning point’ of the match. After 18 overs, Pakistan needed 21 runs to win and had 5 wickets remaining but Bumrah became a mystery for the batsmen in this over. Only 3 runs were scored in this over and Iftikhar’s wicket also fell. In his/her spell of 4 overs, Bumrah took 3 wickets for just 14 runs and was the ‘Player of the Match’ for the second consecutive time. Earlier, in the 15th and his/her third over of the innings, he/she had bowled Rizwan for 3 runs. These two overs explained why Bumrah is considered the best bowler of all three formats at present? he/she bowled wicket-to-wicket and did not give the opposition batsmen a chance to open their hands with changes in speed and variations.

24 balls… 15 dots… 3 wickets… Bumrah turned the tables like this, India made a big record

It is extremely lethal and economical too

Taking wickets along with being accurate has always been the USP of Bumrah’s bowling. In T20 format cricket, even great bowlers prove to be expensive at times, but this master of fast bowling has never given more than 50 runs in his/her 64 T20I career so far. In his/her T20I career, he/she has given more than 40 runs only 5 times so far. In August 2022, against Australia in Hyderabad, he/she gave 50 runs in four overs without taking a wicket, which is his/her worst analysis. 79 wickets in 64 T20Is at an average of 18.67 and an economy of 6.44 are proof of him/her being India’s fast bowling superstar.
