Congress, Aditya Thackeray raised questions on EVM

After facing a crushing defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi had alleged irregularities in EVMs. Especially Congress and Sharad Pawar led NCP (SP) have demanded voting through ballot paper instead of EVM in future. Aditya Thackeray had accused the Election Commission of misuse of EVMs during the state assembly elections.

This is why the opposition had raised questions on EVMs.

More than 20 candidates from opposition parties, who lost the assembly elections, raised serious concerns over the reliability of EVMs. These candidates had alleged significant irregularities between the votes cast and the declared results, especially in areas where the opposition was expected to show strong performance.
