‘There is a technical flaw in Shubman Gill’s batting…’ Dinesh Karthik gave suggestion to Gill

New Delhi. Shubman, who was out of the team due to injury in the first match against Australia, returned in the second match but could not perform anything special. he/she has scored only 60 runs in the three innings played so far, which shows that the batsman is completely out of form. In such a situation, India’s former star wicketkeeper batsman and commentator Dinesh Karthik said that there is a technical flaw in Shubman Gill’s batting.

Karthik believes that Gill’s habit of going on the front foot and pushing the ball hard is the reason behind his/her mediocre performance away from home. Since the Gabba Test in 2021, he/she has scored at an average of 22.31. Dinesh Karthik said on Cricbuzz, ‘Shubman Gill has a technical flaw in moving the ball forward. When you play in white ball formats, you do this. Travis Head has a similar problem, but he/she has successfully found a solution. When batsmen like Shubman Gill talk about playing in India and outside the country, they are stuck in two minds.

Former Pakistani player made fun of comparison of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam

he/she further said, ‘As soon as Gill sees the ball leaving the bowler’s hand, he/she feels that the ball is full and he/she pushes it hard. Batsmen who have been successful in Australia, England and South Africa will tell you to play the ball with soft hands and close to the body or leave it. Shubman is playing the same way he/she plays in India. he/she is pushing the ball hard with both hands. In places like Brisbane, playing on the front foot is a bit risky and it would be better if you start leaving such balls.
