Dhankar Lake, also known as Sir Kund Lake, is located at an altitude of 4136 meters (13570 ft) in the Spiti part of Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It is about an hour’s walk from Dhankar village. This lake is situated in the middle of the mountains. The view of the lake is beautiful and you can also see snow covered mountains in the distance. From here you can also see a wonderful view of Manirang Peak (6593 m), the highest peak of Himachal Pradesh, located on the border of Kinnaur and Spiti districts.

If you are coming from Delhi, you can hire a bus or taxi to reach Manali, which is about 550 kilometers away. From Manali, you can take a sharing or private taxi to Kaza, the main town of Spiti Valley. The Manali to Kaza route is open from June to October, so this way you can reach Lahaul Spiti.
