There is a long standing enmity with Sikhs… BJP leader Tarun Chugh targeted Rahul Gandhi’s statement

New Delhi: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh condemned Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in the US as unpardonable. he/she accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of tarnishing the country’s image both abroad and at home. Chugh said Gandhi speaks without facts or basis. Reacting to Gandhi’s comments on Sikhs in particular, Chugh said, “his/her question on whether a Sikh can wear a turban or a kada is a sign of his/her being completely disconnected from reality.

Gandhi family accused of enmity towards Sikhs
Chugh also appealed to central agencies to investigate Gandhi’s frequent foreign visits and the motive behind them. BJP leader Chugh also accused the Gandhi family of harboring a long-standing animosity towards Sikhs and Punjabis, and made a reference to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. he/she said that 3,000 innocent people were killed in 1984, this is the legacy of the Congress. In contrast, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always maintained the dignity of the Sikh community and worked for their welfare. Chugh also accused the Congress of constantly insulting the Constitution and disrespecting its architect Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.

Criticized for praising ChinaChugh also criticised Rahul Gandhi for praising China’s economy, and urged him/her to study India’s development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP leader asserted that Sikhs in India proudly wear their religious symbols without fear, and accused Rahul Gandhi of trying to create a communal rift.
