There are 5 high demand courses in CCSU’s LR College, but no one knows about them, know this before taking admission anywhere

The people here have been demanding for a long time to open a degree college in Trans Hindon. Despite this, this demand has not been fulfilled yet. In such a situation, the students here are dependent on Lajpat Rai College. Students from far-flung areas of the district come to study in it. Recently, a big negligence of the university was seen in this degree college, due to which the students are also suffering. Actually, the information of many courses run in LR College has not been updated on the university’s website. Due to which the students taking admission here were not aware of the courses. Due to this, more than half of the seats of these courses were remaining vacant for the last two years.

Which courses are there in LR College and how many seats?

Let us tell you that in LR College affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), up to 50 percent of seats in MA Economics, MCom, MSc Maths and BCA remain vacant every year. The same situation was seen in the year 2023. It has been two years since these subjects were started, despite this, these subjects have not yet been updated on the university website in the name of the college. In such a situation, due to lack of information, it becomes difficult to fill the seats of these subjects.

Course seat Vacant seats in 2022 2023
MA Economics 40 12 12
M. Com 60 28 28
M.Sc Mathematics 60 42 40
M.Sc Physics 20 19 17
BCA 60 44 42

Under college development, studies of a total of five subjects, MSc Physics, MSc Mathematics, BCA, MCom, MA Economics, were started in Lajpat Rai (LR) College in the session 2022-2023. All these subjects are being conducted in the college under self-finance. The college management said that despite all the efforts at the college level, 30 to 50 percent of the seats in these subjects remain vacant. While not even half the seats in MA Economics and MCom are filled, up to 30 percent of the seats in MSc Mathematics and BCA remain vacant. However, the situation of admissions in MSc Physics is better.

the consequences of negligence

The management said that this is happening due to lack of information about these subjects on the university portal. Students are not aware of these subjects and that these courses are also available in the college. It is certain that the students who reach the college are informed about this. Due to this, admissions in these courses are also decreasing.

This information will soon be visible on the university portal. The university has been contacted regarding this. The subjects will be updated on the portal in a day or two. Right now they are being promoted through social media and the college website. Since these are new courses, most of the students are not aware of them yet. – Prof. Uday Pratap Singh, Principal, LR College
