… then PM Modi put the first stamp on coalition politics, Naidu’s first wish fulfilled

New Delhi: Recently, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu came to Delhi and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When the picture of this meeting came out, people interpreted it differently. It was speculated that Chandrababu had gone to meet with demands for his/her state. This speculation has proved almost correct. Within a week of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Center has accepted a major demand of setting up an oil refinery and petrochemical hub in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore. Naidu, a key ally in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Center, met top officials of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Wednesday to discuss preparations for setting up a refinery in the state. This is a big victory for Naidu
According to the information, three locations have been discussed for the refinery. These include Srikakulam, Machilipatnam and Ramayapatnam. The formal announcement of the refinery is likely to be made in the budget to be presented on July 23. It will be finalized after the location is finalized. Sources say that this process will take at least two months and the location may not be announced in the budget. This is a big victory for Naidu as he/she had insisted on setting up a refinery during his/her meeting with the PM and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri.

TDP with 16 MPs is the second largest party in NDA
Naidu’s 16 MPs are supporting the BJP-led NDA government. However, Naidu is saying that he/she has the interest of his/her state in mind. The refinery is a commitment made at the time of the division of the state. BPCL and the Petroleum Ministry have not said anything about this move yet. Chandrababu Naidu posted on the microblogging site X and wrote that our state has significant petrochemical potential. I have held a meeting with officials and a detailed discussion has taken place regarding the petroleum hub.

Allies will have to be taken care of

After BJP, Chandrababu Naidu’s party is the second largest party in NDA. BJP alone could not achieve absolute majority this time and in such a situation the importance of allies increases a lot. NDA’s figure has reached 293 including BJP and other allies. This time BJP got only 240 seats out of 543 and remained far from majority on its own. Many questions were raised by the opposition regarding allies but till now no NDA party has said anything that would create any problem for the central government. Many questions were also raised regarding the election of Lok Sabha speaker but till now all the decisions have been taken by consensus. After BJP and TDP, Nitish’s JDU is the third largest party in NDA.
