‘Then 1984 and now… Congress has not changed?’ Union minister hits back at Congress MLA for offering bounty on beheading

New Delhi: Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu has reacted sharply to the statement of Congress MLA Vedma Boyju. Boyju had announced to give land to the person who brings Bittu’s severed head. Bittu, while reacting, targeted the Congress. he/she said that the Congress party has not changed since the time of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. This controversy started when Bittu called Rahul Gandhi ‘number one terrorist’.

‘Congress has not changed from 1984 to 2024’

The Union Minister posted on Instagram and said, ‘1984 to 2024, Congress has not changed. Then it demanded the blood of Sikhs, even today it is demanding the same. Kharge ji Mohabbat ki Dukaan?’ Congress MLA from Khanpur in Telangana, Boyju had announced to give 1.3 acres of land to the person who killed Bittu. Condemning Boyju’s statement, Telangana BJP wrote on social media, ‘Such dangerous and criminal provocations are now becoming common.’

Boyju gave a controversial statement

Boyju had protested against the minister’s statement on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. he/she told TV channels, “Ravneet Singh Bittu should take back his/her comment. If he/she does not take it back, I am also making a declaration as Khanpur MLA. I will hand over one acre and 38 guntas of land earned by my father to the person who brings his/her severed head. This is our property. I am announcing (giving away) my and my father’s property.”

Attacking Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over his/her statement on the condition of Sikhs in India, Minister of State for Railways Bittu on Sunday said if “bomb makers” were supporting him/her, then he/she was “number one” terrorist.
