Holi 2023 Stock Market: Holi is being celebrated with pomp across the country. From government to private institutions, today is a holiday. People are celebrating Holi with family, friends and relatives, but trading is still going on in the stock market. Like every day, today on the day of Holi, the stock market is open as per its scheduled time in the morning. Sensex fell 297.55 points to 59,926.91 and Nifty fell 103.95 points to 17,607.60 in early trade at 9.15 am. Now in such a situation, the question is arising that when the whole country is celebrating Holi today i.e. on March 8, then why is the trading going on in the stock market? Stock market is also a part of India. Let’s try to find the answer to this question.

After all, why was the market not closed on the day of Holi?

In the country, from government institutions to private institutions, the process of determining holidays on festivals is different. In government institutions, the list of holidays is issued by that department. RBI releases the holiday list of banks on which days the banks will remain closed throughout the year. In private companies, that company decides on which day not to come to office. Similarly, the Indian stock market releases the list regarding the holiday in the stock market, which Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) And National Stock Exchange (NSE) Is. According to the list of stock market holidays, the Holi holiday in 2023 is on March 7. In Hindu tradition, it is often seen that a festival is celebrated on different days in different parts of the country. This is the reason that many times there is a slight reversal in the holidays. It is not that the stock market has not declared a holiday on account of Holi. Since Holi has also been celebrated yesterday in Rajasthan and some other places of the country.

Stock markets are going to remain closed for two days in March 2023. One on the occasion of Holi on March 7 and the other on March 30, 2023, due to the celebration of Ram Navami festival, the business will remain closed.
