Cold will increase again in the national capital. Rain alert has been issued in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Rajasthan.
Temperature rises in Delhi, relief from cold
Talking about Delhi-NCR, people’s faces lit up due to sunshine throughout the day on Sunday. he/she got great relief from the torture of winter. After five years, the temperature in the capital Delhi has reached 26 degrees in January itself. The maximum temperature on Sunday was 26.1 degrees. This is 6.5 degrees more than normal. Earlier on January 21, 2019, the temperature in the capital was 28.7 degrees. The temperature will remain the same tomorrow i.e. on Monday also. However, cold waves and thaws are still troubling people at night and in the morning. The possibility of dense fog also cannot be ruled out.
The severity of winter will increase again in the next few days
According to the Meteorological Department, the movement of clouds is expected to increase in Delhi-NCR in the next few days. It may rain in some areas. Cold winds will increase people’s problems further. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Delhi-NCR on January 22 and 23 due to western disturbance.

Along with Delhi, there are chances of rain in many areas of Uttar Pradesh also. Due to which the severity of winter is likely to increase again. In Rajasthan too, rain is expected in some areas next week. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the new western disturbance becoming active on January 21-22, there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in the north-western and north-eastern parts of the state.
Weather changed due to sudden rain in Bengaluru
Sudden rain surprised people in Bengaluru early on Sunday morning. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in Bengaluru for the next few days. Rain has been predicted not only in the capital but also in the interior areas of South Karnataka and Malnad areas. Karnataka Natural Disaster Management Center has issued a rain alert in the state. There will be moderate to dense fog in the state and there are chances of scattered rain.
According to IMD, the unexpected rain in Bengaluru is being attributed to the cyclone formed off the east coast of Sri Lanka and south-west of the Bay of Bengal. The Bengaluru-based Meteorological Center predicted light rain during the next 48 hours. There are chances of increasing cold during this period.
One week rain and snowfall forecast in Kashmir
A slight rise in the minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR as well as Kashmir brought some relief to the residents from the cold. However, this relief will not last long as rain and snowfall is forecast in many parts of the valley till January 24. The mercury in Srinagar remained at minus one degree Celsius, which is lower than the previous night’s temperature (minus 0.9 degree Celsius). The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Kashmir for a week. Light rain or snowfall may occur at many places in the next 36 hours.
