The new release date of ‘Maharaj’ will be released soon

The film was earlier scheduled to stream on Netflix on June 14, but it was banned before that. Now that the way for release is cleared, the makers will soon announce the new release date.

Why is there a ruckus over the film Maharaj?

Actually, it is being said that this film shows the hearing of a defamation case of the year 1862, which was decided on the basis of the decision of British judges. Religious leader Jadunathji had filed this case against social reformer Karsandas Mulji. Jadunathji was one of the leaders of the ‘Pushti Marg sect’. Mulji had written an article in a weekly newspaper claiming that Jadunathji had sexual relations with his/her female followers. he/she used to force the wives of male followers for sex. After this claim-filled article, religious leader Jadunathji had filed a case against Mulji, but the British court had then rejected this petition.
