There was a panic among the security agencies after hundreds of fake bomb threats for the airlines in the country. After which the Central Government has amended the aircraft (security) rule, 2023, which provides for a fine of up to 1 crore for such crime.

According to the Rule of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), if a person is found to be trying to spread the news, threatening, or spreading a false rumor, his/her name will be put on the no-fly list for 5 years. Which means that a person will not be able to travel by flight of any country and the world for 5 years.

If there is a case on a person who gives false threats or rumors in the flight, he/she can be jailed for at least 10 years. With this, if the situation is found to be more severe, then a person can be filed under the Unlopy Activity Prevention Act (UAPA) as guilty.
