The selectors did not give him/her a chance, England’s explosive batsman suddenly retired


New Delhi. England cricket team’s explosive batsman David Malan has said goodbye to international cricket. The former number 1 T20 batsman has announced his/her retirement from all three formats of cricket. This 37-year-old batsman last played a match for England in 2023. David Malan has taken this decision after being constantly kept out of the team by the selectors. This veteran has a century to his/her name in all three formats – Test, ODI and T20.

Former number 1 T20 batsman David Malan has now announced his/her retirement from international cricket after not being able to make a place in the team for a long time. he/she will continue to play in T20 leagues played in different countries. The top order batsman of the England cricket team last played in the ICC ODI World Cup played in India in 2023. Since then he/she has not got a place in the team. David Malan was part of the England team that won the T20 World Cup in the year 2022.

Malan’s international career
David Malan showed his/her batting prowess in all three formats for England. This batsman scored 1074 runs in 22 Tests in which his/her best score was 140 runs. he/she scored 1450 runs in 30 ODIs in which his/her highest score was 140 runs. Talking about T20, he/she scored a total of 1892 runs in 62 matches with the best innings of 103 not out.

David Malan is only the second batsman from England to score a century in all three formats. England captain Jos Buttler has done this feat. The selectors did not consider his/her name for the series against Australia. he/she announced his/her retirement only after this decision.
