The second meeting of the ministerial round table will be held on 26 August in Singapore, know who will be included

New Delhi: The second round of ministerial level meeting between India and Singapore will be held in Singapore on 26 August 2024. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Railway, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will participate in this meeting from India’s side. During this, Indian ministers will hold talks with their counterparts and will also meet the Singapore leadership.
This meeting is special because in this both the countries will discuss strengthening their relations and exploring new dimensions. India and Singapore already have very strong relations. More than 20 bilateral mechanisms, talks and exercises are going on between the two countries. Both countries have similar views on many international issues and are members of many forums such as East Asia Summit, G-20, Commonwealth, Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) and Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS).

The relations between the two countries will be strong

ISMR is a unique platform to give a new direction to India-Singapore relations. Its first meeting was held in New Delhi in September 2022. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this meeting will help both sides to review various aspects of their strategic partnership and explore new avenues to further elevate and broaden it.

Let us tell you that earlier on August 19, Foreign Secretary (East) Jaideep Mazumdar held a meeting with Singapore’s Permanent Secretary for Law and Second Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Luke Goh in Delhi. The two sides discussed bilateral, regional and important international issues of mutual interest. Earlier in July, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with his/her Singapore counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan on the sidelines of the ASEAN meeting in Vientiane, Laos and talked about creating a new agenda for bilateral relations.
