The seat arrangement in Lok Sabha will show the strength of the opposition, the scene will be a bit different

New Delhi : The results of the Lok Sabha elections were so interesting that the defeat of those who won was discussed more or rather it is being discussed and the victory of those who lost was discussed more. It happens very rarely that those in the opposition are no less happy than those who formed the government. The opposition is happy with its unity and its results. The happiness of reducing the BJP, which had won 303 seats last time, to 240 seats. The happiness of stopping it from getting a majority on its own. The attitude of the opposition in the Parliament, which has got new enthusiasm due to the results, is now worth watching. Now the mark of the increased strength of the opposition will be clearly visible in the seat arrangement of the MPs in the Lok Sabha. The opposition India Alliance, which won 236 seats, will now get at least 8 seats in the front row. The ruling BJP will also get only 8 seats in the first row. The strength of the BJP has decreased, so this time its allies will be seen more in the front row compared to last time. The seat arrangement in the House gives a glimpse of the strength of the parties. The more MPs a party has, the more seats it gets in the front row. Every MP’s seat is allotted a special number, which is called division number. This number is used during voting in the House. Division numbers have not been allotted yet, but a Hindustan Times report quoted a senior Lok Sabha official as saying that the parties have been informed about which seats have been allotted to them. Now the parties will tell which seat will be allotted to which of their MPs. As soon as this communication is received from the parties, division numbers will be allotted to the MPs.

In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP emerged as the largest party by winning 240 seats but it missed the majority on its own. Congress’s performance has improved tremendously but it missed the 100 mark. It won 99 seats. Samajwadi Party has emerged as the third largest party in the House with 37 seats. TMC has 29 MPs.

From the ruling party, PM Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari sit in the first row. This was their sitting order last time as well. That means this time too, seats number 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the Lok Sabha will be allotted to PM Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and Gadkari respectively. Apart from these, BJP’s allies TDP and JDU are also expected to get seats in the front row. From TDP, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and Animal Husbandry and Panchayati Raj Minister Rajiv Ranjan alias Lallan Singh may get seats.

If we talk about the seat arrangement of the opposition, then Congress is going to get 3 seats in the front row. One of these will be given to the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Apart from him/her, there will be 2 more Congress MPs in the front row. It is possible that the party’s most experienced MP in the House, K. Suresh, may get one of these seats. Among the other constituents of the India Alliance, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is sure to get a front seat. Similarly, DMK can also get one seat.

The new Parliament building has the Lok Sabha arranged in a semi-circular shape. It has 8 blocks of seats – while the old building had 6 blocks. The ruling NDA will get 5 of these 8 blocks.
