‘The roof of the building built in 2009 collapsed, not in 2024…’ BJP leader Amit Malviya counters Congress’ claims

New Delhi: The first monsoon rain in Delhi has become a disaster for the people of the capital. While the first rain caused waterlogging at many places, a major accident occurred at Delhi’s Terminal-1. In which one person died and many people were injured. Congress targeted PM Modi after the balcony collapsed at Terminal-1. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge claimed that the part of the balcony that collapsed was inaugurated by PM Modi on March 10.

Mallikarjun Kharge was rejected by the Union Minister

However, rejecting this claim of Mallikarjun Kharge, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, after visiting the accident site, said that the part of the airport roof that has fallen is part of the roof built in 2009. It was not inaugurated by PM Modi. The minister said that we are taking this incident seriously. I want to clarify that the building inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi is on the other side and the building that has fallen here is an old building and was inaugurated in 2009. GMR had given the contract for this work to private contractors. In this way, the social media war between Congress and BJP continued throughout the day over the collapse of the airport roof. Let us show you who has made what allegations and counter-allegations.

Congress general secretary and president targeted the center

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh raised questions on the accident at Delhi Airport and said that the Prime Minister had inaugurated Delhi Airport Terminal-1 in March, today its roof collapsed in which a cab driver died tragically. The roof of Jabalpur Airport which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister three months ago also collapsed. The whole country is saddened by the poor condition of construction work in Ayodhya. This is the corrupt model of BJP of taking donations and giving business, which has now been exposed. The question is whether the Prime Minister will take responsibility for these poor construction works and this corrupt model?

Not only this, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge posted on X and wrote – corruption and criminal negligence are responsible for the poor infrastructure that collapsed like a pack of cards in the last 10 years of the Modi government. The collapse of the roof of Delhi Airport (T1), the collapse of the roof of Jabalpur Airport, the poor condition of the new roads of Ayodhya, leakage in Ram Mandir, cracks in Mumbai Trans Harbor Link Road, the collapse of 13 new bridges in Bihar in 2023 and 2024, the submergence of Pragati Maidan tunnel, the collapse of the Morbi bridge tragedy in Gujarat are some of the clear examples that expose the big claims of Modi ji and BJP to create world-class infrastructure. On March 10, when Modi ji inaugurated Delhi Airport T1, he/she called himself a man of the second soil. After this, the party president expressed his/her condolences to the victims and wrote that our heartfelt condolences to the victims of the Delhi Airport tragedy. They suffered the brunt of a corrupt, incompetent and selfish government.

At the same time, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also targeted PM Modi and wrote on Twitter that the roof of Delhi Airport Terminal-1, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in March, collapsed today, in which a cab driver died tragically. The roof of Jabalpur Airport, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister three months ago, also collapsed. The whole country is saddened by the poor condition of construction work in Ayodhya. She also questioned the PM to take responsibility and said that this is the corrupt model of BJP of taking donations and giving business, which has now been exposed. The question is whether the Prime Minister will take responsibility for these poor construction works and this corrupt model?

BJP leader Amit Malviya hit back

BJP leaders also strongly retaliated to the tweets of many Congress leaders. BJP leader Amit Malviya hit back at the Congress’s comment and claimed that during the Congress-led UPA government, whoever sent the biggest bribe was given the contracts. The part of T1 that collapsed was opened in 2009 when the Congress-led UPA was in power. There was no concept of quality checks in those days and whoever sent the biggest bribe to the ruling Congress was given the contracts. he/she further wrote that Sonia Gandhi, who was the super PM at that time, should respond.

A compensation of 20 lakh rupees has been announced for the family of the person who died in the accident at Delhi airport on Friday morning. Along with this, Delhi airport has said that all the injured will be given a compensation of three lakh rupees each. One person died and eight people were injured in an accident caused by the roof collapse at the airport’s terminal one on Friday after heavy rain. Delhi airport has said on X that all flights from terminal one will depart and land from terminals two and three till 11 pm.
