The opposition started to create a ruckus as soon as the Finance Minister presented the budget, he/she would walkout but then returned


New Delhi : Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Nirmala Sitharaman stood up for the budget speech at 11 am on Saturday, the opposition started creating a ruckus. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and his/her party’s second MP Prayagraj Mahakumbh created a ruckus on the issue of stampede on the day of Mauni Amavasya. Speaker Om Birla had to calm him/her down and give advice. The atmosphere became such that it seemed that the opposition would probably boycott the Finance Minister’s budget speech. Some opposition MPs also walked out but after a while they returned to their respective seats.

As soon as the proceedings of the House started at 11 am, the opposition members and especially the members of the Samajwadi Party started creating a ruckus. Speaker Om Birla called Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s name for budget speech. She stood on her seat but the opposition members continued to create a ruckus. While calming them, speaker Om Birla said that he/she would give you enough opportunity to speak during the discussion on the President’s address after the budget but the opposition members kept making noise. On this, the speaker took the name of former UP CM and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and said that you should maintain the dignity of Parliament. Nothing like this happened during the budget speech at any time. This method is not good. The speaker kept saying repeatedly that the opposition members would give a chance to speak on the President’s address.

During the budget speech of the Finance Minister, all the opposition members started going out of the House

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman started her speech amidst the noise and uproar of the opposition members. Opposition members kept shouting slogans. At 11.5 pm, members of the opposition left the House and went out. It seemed that the opposition had made a mood to boycott the budget speech of the Finance Minister, but after 2 minutes, the opposition members came back to their seats.

This is the eighth consecutive budget of Nirmala Sitharaman as Finance Minister. So far, no Finance Minister has presented the Union Budget 8 times in a row. Morar Ji Desai has presented the budget 10 times. P Chidambaram has presented the budget 9 times and Pranab Mukherjee has presented the budget 8 times.
