The irregularities in the UPSC process are shocking… Priyanka Gandhi fired sharp arrows at the Modi government in the Pooja Khedkar case

New Delhi: UPSC has lodged an FIR in Delhi Crime Branch against trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar who is facing allegations of forgery in documents. In such a situation, UPSC’s certificate system is under question due to Pooja Khedkar’s fake certificate and other controversies. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has attacked the Modi government by raising questions on UPSC’s certificate system and its process.

he/she wrote on the social media platform X, ‘UPSC is the most reputed exam in the country and the people who come out of it are the most important pillars of the governance system. The trust of crores of people of the country and the functioning of our day-to-day governance is linked to the professional system of this institution. I have seen myself how hard the youth prepare for this exam, with lots of dreams in their eyes and passion in their hearts. In such a situation, the news of irregularities in the processes of UPSC is very surprising. Even a single irregularity in this important selection process raises big questions and hurts the dreams and faith of lakhs of youth.’

Priyanka Gandhi demanded an answer from the Modi government

he/she further wrote, ‘It is important that the public and the youth preparing for UPSC get answers to these questions. Are the people who have come to the higher posts of UPSC through political appointments responsible for this? If yes, then when will action be taken against them? In a system in which there is high level competition due to every single mark, is it right to wash hands off after just doing a superficial investigation? The system of fake certificates hurts the opportunities available to SC, ST, OBC, handicapped and EWS category candidates. Can’t a solid institutional system be developed to check certificates?’

Priyanka Gandhi attacked the government

he/she said, ‘There is a dire need for changes to make the UPSC system more transparent and authentic, should this not be considered. Questions related to UPSC are questions related to trust in the governance of this country and the dreams of our crores of youth. It is important to get an answer from the government on this.’ Trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar, who is surrounded by allegations of forgery in documents, created her fake identity by changing her name, parents’ name, signature, email, mobile number and address. This is the reason why the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has started action against Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar.
