The big student movement of the year 2022 which made us realize that ‘question-asking communities are alive’

Haasil is a film, there is a dialogue in it ‘The one whom no one can bind is called youth and if you turn youth upside down then it becomes Vayu… The wind that keeps on flowing, if it flows lightly then it becomes better and if it becomes strong then it makes you miserable. Gives.’ In the year 2022, this wind blew fast many times… so much so that it ruined the government and its system. In fact, this year has been the year of agitations, everyone from farmers to students took to the streets and gave proof of their existence.

However, in this article, our center is the student movement, so we will talk about it. In this article, we will tell you how many major student movements took place in the year 2022 and what was their conclusion. But before that let us make one thing clear that if the freedom and democracy of this country is still alive on someone’s shoulders then it is only the student of India. However, the violence that took place during Gandhi’s movements in this country has never been accepted and will not be done in the future.

History of student movement in India

Not only in the year 2022, there have been student movements in the country, but for decades students have been taking to the streets to make the rulers realize that the communities questioning them are still alive. However, if we talk about the beginning of the student movement in the country, then the first case comes in 1848, when Dadabhai Naoroji established a forum named ‘Students Scientific and Historical Society’. It is said that this was the first platform which laid the foundation of student movements in India. On the other hand, if we talk about any mass strike or protest of the students for the first time, then it happened in the year 1913.

This strike took place in King Edward Medical College, Lahore. Here a group of students went on strike to protest against the academic discrimination between English students and Indians. After this, many big movements took place in the country, in which students played an important role. But when Emergency was imposed in post-independence India, the movement that took birth under the leadership of Jai Prakash Narayan (JP), changed both the direction and condition of the country. This movement gave birth to such leaders in the country, whose voice spoke from the state governments to the central government. Now let’s talk about the big movements of the year 2022.

RRB-NTPC Result Vs Student

If this movement is called the first big movement of the year, then there will be nothing wrong in it. Most of the flames from this movement were seen in Bihar. However, in many areas of Uttar Pradesh also, students created a huge ruckus. In cities like Prayagraj, which is called the stronghold of students, there was a huge crowd of students on the streets. Along with this, a horrific scene of police action was also shown in which students were taken out of their rooms and beaten up.

Now let us tell what was the root of this whole ruckus. Actually, just before the Lok Sabha elections in the year 2019, through NTPC, Railways invited applications for 35,308 posts and for Group D, about one lakh three thousand posts. Hearing about this vacancy, there was a wave of happiness among the students, they filled the form and prepared for the exam. Its examination was held in the year 2021 and its result was declared in the year 2022.

Now the students had to say that when the notification was issued for this recruitment, it was written that the Railway Board will give 20 times the result in CBT-1 (NTPC), but in reality it did not happen. Railways selected the same student for multiple posts. That is, the student who is a graduate, was also selected for the post for 12th pass. Now the demand of the students was that the Railways should have selected only one student for one post. Along with this, he demanded that there should be separate examinations for 12th pass recruitment and for graduation. There was a fierce movement in Bihar and UP regarding this, many trains were set on fire and many railway stations were destroyed.

agneepath scheme vs student

This was the biggest movement of the year. In the scorching heat of June, this is how the mercury stays in the sky. But in the meantime, a decision of the Central Government further heated up the atmosphere in the country. The Modi government at the Center launched a scheme for recruitment in all three forces (Army, Air Force and Navy) in June, which was called the Agneepath scheme. Under this scheme, after the examination, the recruitment of Chhatras in the army was to be done only for four years. As soon as the youth who dreamed of working in the country’s army for the rest of their life came to know about this scheme, their anger erupted. It erupted in such a way that curfew-like conditions remained in the country for several days.

Many cities were set on fire, trains were burnt, district-wise BJP offices were ransacked and hashtags were trending on social media for months. The conclusion of this whole movement was that in this some more facilities were given to the students and many state governments came forward and said that those who will spend four years in the army, they will be given jobs on priority here. Now the recruitment under this scheme has also started and students are also participating in it.

fee hike vs student

Fees were increased in Allahabad University (AU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) this year. This fee hike was manifold, due to which the students got agitated. Even though this movement was short in BHU, but this movement went on for a long time in Allahabad University. The students blocked the entire city. The biggest thing was that the voice of this movement was raised from the country’s parliament to the state assembly as well.

The atmosphere became such that the university called the Oxford of the East was converted into a cantonment and red boots were guarded all around. This movement is still going on, the students are still on hunger strike. The agitated students say that the amount of fees that has been increased today, a student coming from a poor family cannot pay it. It should be reduced so that every section of the society can get good education, the right of which is given by the constitution of the country.

UPSC Student Vs Govt

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), after passing the examination of which a student becomes the collector of your district, there was a dispute in the year 2022. In fact, there is a demand from the students preparing for UPSC that due to the Corona epidemic, their studies could not be completed and they lost their chance to appear in this exam. Now he is demanding from the government that just like SSC GD and Agniveer candidates were given a chance to make extra attempts, they should also be given extra attempts for UPSC. There was a big movement in Delhi regarding this demand, after which the police lathicharged the students and they were also arrested.
