The big shots failed, 2 players turned the match around and snatched the victory from Bangladesh


New Delhi. Everyone’s eyes were on the Bangladesh team which defeated Pakistan in the Test series in Pakistan. The team which played against India in the two-match Test series had to face defeat in the first match. The Bangladesh team had made a great start but in Chennai they were defeated by two Indian players. After winning the toss, they chose to bowl and India lost 6 wickets for 144 runs. Here Bangladesh had a chance to tighten its grip on the match but the Test match took a turn from here.

In the Chennai Test, the Indian team registered a strong win against Bangladesh and took a 1-0 lead in the series. By winning the first match by 280 runs, India broke the confidence of Bangladesh which it had gained from its victory in Pakistan. Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto won the toss and decided to bowl first. The bowlers pushed India on the backfoot by giving 6 initial blows one after the other. Such a thing is rarely seen happening with the Indian team at home.

Turning point of the match against Bangladesh
The Indian team lost 6 wickets cheaply in the first innings. Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, all the big names were out and went to the dressing room. In such a situation, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took charge of the batting. Both of them batted in such a way that it spoiled the efforts of Bangladesh. The partnership of 199 runs for the seventh wicket turned the match around. Ashwin played an innings of 113 runs while Jadeja was out after scoring 86 runs.

First showed strength in batting and then in bowling
Ashwin and Jadeja, who shone in the first innings against Bangladesh in batting, took 9 wickets together in the second innings of the Chennai Test. Chasing 515 runs, the visiting team collapsed in the first session on the fourth day. Ashwin took 6 wickets for 88 runs while Jadeja took 3 wickets for 58 runs.
