The interesting thing is that Pakistan captain Abdul Hafeez Kardar has played for Pakistan as well as India. he/she played for India before partition in 1947. However, after the partition of India in 1947, he/she settled in Pakistan.

Hafiz, born on 17 January 1925, played 3 test matches for India before partition. Hafeez played these three matches during the England tour. After partition in 1947, Hafeez was made the captain of the Pakistan team. Hafeez played 23 test matches for Pakistan. he/she played his/her last Test match against West Indies in 1958. Abdul Hafeez Kardar scored 927 runs in 26 Test matches at an average of 23.76 and took 21 wickets. In this he/she scored 80 runs for India. Whereas for Pakistan he/she scored 847 runs at an average of 24.91, which included five half-centuries. The 21 wickets taken by Kardar were taken while playing for Pakistan.

Apart from this, Abdul Hafeez Kardar became the Chief Selector of Pakistan team after his/her retirement from cricket. Then he/she was also the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during 1972-77. Not only this, Kardar also tried his/her luck in politics. Kardar was also elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab in 1970 on the ticket of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
