Tharoor’s statement, Shama’s post … Congress’s No Action Formula, why did just the edge?

New Delhi: The Congress party is going through a difficult period at this time. Some party leaders want to keep their point open, but the party fears that it may tarnish his/her image. Something similar happened with Karti Chidambaram. In 2015, the Tamil Nadu Congress issued a show cause notice to him/her for his/her comment on state leaders. But the party could not refuse to give him/her a Lok Sabha ticket, as he/she could win the election. Similarly, when he/she said that there is ‘high command culture’ in the Congress, the party had to avoid them.

BJP taunts Congress

The Congress wants to show that it is different, but the problem occurs when the party leaders make such statements that benefit the BJP. It is becoming difficult for the party to balance between discipline and freedom to speak. The BJP often taunts that no one can stand in the Congress standing in front of the Gandhi family.

Congress is silent in the case of Tharoor

The challenge before the Congress is how it should give freedom to speak its leaders and also preserve the image of the party. Inner sources in the party say that the Congress leadership is worried that the state’s image is being tarnished by the statements of leaders like Tharoor.
