Terrorists are spreading their network in areas that have been peaceful for a long time! This is not possible without traitors

New Delhi: In Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists are expanding their network in areas that have been peaceful for a long time. The area where terrorists ambushed the Indian Army patrol in Kathua, Jammu, has also been peaceful for more than a decade. Terrorists have been carrying out their activities in Jammu for the last 2-3 years. The continuous ambushes have not only raised questions on intelligence, but also the question is being raised as to why terrorists are getting local support in these areas. It is not possible for terrorists to ambush and then run away without local support.

Are locals in collusion with terrorists?

On Monday, terrorists ambushed an army patrol in Kathua and then fled into the jungles. A joint search operation is being conducted to catch the terrorists. Surveillance is also being done with sniffer dogs, metal detectors, helicopters and UAVs. It is believed that three to four terrorists were involved in this attack and most of them were foreigners. But sources say that the terrorists were helped by local people. The terrorists got information about the army’s movement through local guides and then they did a recce and planned their mission. After the attack, they also escaped easily, which is not possible without local support. Earlier, terrorists carried out many incidents in the Poonch-Rajauri area. These areas have also remained peaceful for about two decades. Then they carried out terrorist incidents in Reasi and now in Kathua.

Effect of reducing the number of soldiers?

According to a security agency official, the army has a strong anti-infiltration grid in Kashmir which makes it difficult for terrorists to carry out attacks and escape. But the number of soldiers in Rajouri-Poonch area of Jammu was reduced, which the terrorists took advantage of. Even in Kathua, soldiers are not deployed in the same way as they are in the areas of Kashmir. An official said that when there is a constant presence of the army, it connects with the local people and human intelligence becomes strong.

Questions on Jammu and Kashmir Police too

Soldiers do change every two-three years but when the old soldiers introduce the new soldiers to the local people, the trust continues. But when a large number of soldiers are removed and there is a gap of about three-four years, then it is not so easy to connect with the local people. Questions are also being raised on the Jammu and Kashmir Police whether they are also not able to get intelligence. The question is because the police people are always there and the police have local people. Despite this, if the terrorists escape after carrying out big incidents, then it is natural for questions to be raised.

Grief, anger and vow of revenge

There is anger and grief across the country over the loss of five brave soldiers in the terrorist attack. While the government has reiterated its resolve to continue the anti-terrorist operation, the Defense Secretary has said that the death of the soldiers will be avenged. President Draupadi Murmu wrote on social media that the attack by terrorists on the convoy of army soldiers in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir is a cowardly act which should be condemned and strict retaliation should be taken for this.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh wrote on social media platform X that I am deeply saddened by the death of our five brave soldiers in the terrorist attack in Kathua.
