‘…Tell me the truth friend, how will you feel?’, Bageshwar Baba’s words on atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh will shock you

New Delhi : Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham, who is often in the news for his/her outspoken statements and advocacy of Hindu unity, is in the news again. he/she has announced that in November he/she will go on a 160 km long ‘Hindu Jodo Yatra’ from Bageshwar Dham to Orchha. A padayatra against casteism and untouchability. Meanwhile, a clip of his/her statements in a podcast is rapidly going viral. Whatever he/she has said in it about the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh is shocking. How Bangladeshi Hindus were tortured in their own country, in the country for whose independence their ancestors sacrificed, they are getting threats of expulsion from the same country. Women and girls were raped. Houses, shops and properties were burnt. Union Minister Giriraj Singh has also shared a clip of Shastri’s podcast.

Referring to the horrific situation created for Hindus after the ‘coup’ of Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh, Dhirendra Shastri has advised the Hindus of India to unite. he/she said that the Hindus of Bangladesh whose houses have been burnt are asking the Hindus of India whether they made any preparations or will they also burn their houses like this.

Dhirendra Shastri was advocating unity while talking about the division of Hindus, when the anchor asked that what was happening to Hindus in Bangladesh, did it not affect us at all. As soon as this was mentioned, Dhirendra Shastri started speaking fluently, warning Hindus by giving the example of Bangladesh. Bageshwar Baba said, ‘One day we were thinking about Bangladesh, how would you feel if someone kidnapped our sister or daughter in front of us, just think about it. In a country where we lived for years and did business, saved every penny and built a house, a shop and 20 people came and looted it and took it away, then tell me the truth, how would you feel? Your own daughter, whom you raised like a flower, a very delicate daughter, and on top of that a ruthless monster in his/her hunger for lust brutally rapes her, tell me the truth, how would you feel?’

Referring to the oppression of Bangladeshi Hindus and their helplessness, he/she further said, ‘The honour for which your ancestors sacrificed their dignity and pride, sacrificed their lives for Ramayana, Ram, Geeta, Krishna…the same goddess’ temple has been demolished and thrown away in the same temple, tell me the truth, how will you feel? In the country where you live, minorities shout at you to leave the country, while your ancestors also sacrificed their lives for Bangladesh to liberate that country and stood with the country and in the same country you are abused and told to leave the country, leave Bangladesh, Hindus leave the country, while there are memories of your grandfather, grandmother, grandfather, father, those doors, that courtyard, that house, that door frame, that tamarind tree, that mango tree, that neem tree…tell me the truth, how will you feel? Your house is burnt, your dream property is burnt to ashes, tell me the truth friend, how would you feel?

Dhirendra Shastri advised the Hindus of India to learn a lesson from what happened in Bangladesh, and also expressed disappointment over the division of Hindus. he/she said, ‘But it is the misfortune of this India that neither the Hindu of India is able to think nor is he/she able to wake up. What can we do alone? A day will come when they will finish us too. They will trap us in some conspiracy. You will see, they will trap us in some case. Okay, today we are here, even if we remain alive, but if you do not wake up, then tell me the truth, friend, what will we do alone. But it is the misfortune of this country that no matter how much we played the flute in front of the Hindus, they are still not coming out of their homes. Even now no one is discussing the Hindu Ekta Yatra…your conscience and your ancestors, your little daughter will definitely ask you one day what you did for the country? …The Hindus of Bangladesh whose houses have been burnt are asking the Hindus of India whether you made any preparations or you will also burn them like this and go away. Hindu means respecting everyone.
