Sea: Former veteran player of the Indian cricket team Harbhajan Singh arrived to see the final match of Surkhi Cricket Mahakumbh in Sagar district. During this, Harbhajan Singh was stunned to see the atmosphere there. Seeing the crowd of thousands, tremendous passion towards cricket and talent of village players, he/she said that there could be this level of cricket in the village, it was not even imagined.
This tournament is a role model for us- Harbhajan
Seeing such a big league in the village, Harbhajan Singh called it a role model and said that he/she will get such an event in his/her village too. he/she gave tips to the players to move forward and also encouraged the people by batting and bowling on the village pitch. he/she said that due to the IPL, now the cricket league is happening in the village, due to which the players are moving forward and playing for India.
Cricket Mahakumbh was going on for three months
This cricket Mahakumbh was being organized by Akash Singh Rajput of Yuva Shakti Sangathan for the last three months in the Surkhi Assembly. 610 teams and 9200 players participated in this tournament. The final match was played between Rahatgarh Friends Cricket Club and Friendship Club headlines. Harbhajan Singh and Minister Govind Singh Rajput arrived as the chief guests to encourage the players in this great -time.
Harbhajan Singh was given a grand reception
Harbhajan Singh was welcomed according to the Bundeli tradition. he/she was respected in a traditional style on the beat of Bundeli Rai, Mridang, Ramatula. Riding on the chariot, he/she circled the entire ground and accepted the greetings of cricket lovers. A crowd of thousands of people was engaged to see them, causing the entire ground to be packed.
The hidden talent of the village will get a chance
Harbhajan Singh said in a conversation with Local 18 that such tournaments should be held, which gives a chance to the hidden talent of the village. I have come from the village myself, when I can move forward, these players can also go ahead. ” he/she requested Minister Govind Singh Rajput that the night tournament should also be done by installing lights in this ground, the minister said that it will be increased gradually.
Winner gets Rs 1.11 lakh
The biggest thing about this tournament is that the participation of so many teams and players from the same assembly has also been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. Friends Cricket Club won the match by winning 40 runs and won the prize money of 1 lakh 11 thousand rupees. The runner -up team got 51 thousand rupees. Apart from this, every team which participated in this tournament, was given 2500 rupees to buy a cricket kit.
This tournament will be held every year
Harbhajan Singh appreciated this grand event and congratulated the organizers. he/she also promised that now he/she will get a similar tournament in his/her village. Minister Govind Singh Rajput also said that now this tournament will be held every year and it will be organized on a bigger scale.
