India Expo: There are many divyangs in the country and the world. For the convenience of these Divyangs, new innovations have started happening. From sensor sticks for the blind to all kinds of equipments required for the convenience of the disabled can be seen and bought at the expo. The three day long India Expo ‘GATEC’ was inaugurated in Greater Noida on 23rd March. Global Technology Expo and Conference at India Expo, Greater Noida It can be said that the Inclusive Disabled Entrepreneurs Association (IDEA) has organized the first ever global event to promote assistive technology, the Global Assistive Technology Expo and Conference (GATEC). The program has been organized. The event is being organized from March 23 to March 25 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. GATEC 2023 is a dedicated platform for promotion of Assistive Technology for Persons with Disabilities.

Goa’s cabinet minister started

The program began on Thursday with the inaugural address by Shri Subhash Phal Desai, Cabinet Minister of Goa and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment. The inaugural program was also addressed by other dignitaries. These included Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Rajesh Agarwal, (IAS) and former Minister of State, Government of India and Member of Parliament from Ambala, Ratan Lal Kataria. GATEC is being organized with the help of Indian Council of Medical Research ie ICMR, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Social Justice and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The gala event is being organized by Shapepro. Also being managed by Iconex Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. The theme of the inaugural year expo is ‘Building a Healthy, Safe, Sustainable and Inclusive Environment’.

More than 10 countries and 250 companies are participating

The three-day GATEC conference is attended by over 3000 global participants from over 10 countries, 250 companies, over 100 exhibitors and eminent speakers. The inaugural event was marked by a keynote session covering current status of products with assistive technology for PWDs, assistive technology for functional impairment and learning, assistive technology in need of humanitarian crisis, self-care and digital health as well as Supportive care was also discussed.
