New Delhi. Team India’s experienced all-rounder Shardul Thakur underwent foot surgery in London on Wednesday. he/she gave this information on social media. After the surgery, Shardul is likely to stay away from cricket for about 3 months. This is the second foot surgery of 32-year-old Shardul. Earlier, he/she had also undergone foot surgery in 2019. Shardul has played 83 international matches for India, including 47 ODIs, 11 Tests and 25 T20s.
Shardul Thakur shared two of his/her photos from the hospital on his/her Instagram page. In which he/she is seen lying on the bed after surgery. It is clearly visible in the photo that Shardul has undergone surgery on his/her right leg. Sharing both the photos, he/she wrote, ‘The operation was successful.’ The injury resurfaced during the South Africa tour earlier this year. However, he/she managed to make a brilliant comeback in the Ranji Trophy last season and helped Mumbai win their 42nd title. he/she had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a long break between matches to give the players enough time to recover and prepare.
