Team India, which returned home after winning the T20 World Cup, is going to have a victory parade in the country’s financial capital Mumbai today. The team reached home on Thursday morning. It was given a grand welcome after landing in Delhi by a special plane. The entire team was going to meet PM Narendra Modi at his/her residence. After meeting the PM, the team will reach Mumbai directly. Its victory parade will be held here. In such a situation, tight security arrangements have been made in Mumbai. The state’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that all arrangements for the victory parade have been made.

Police have made elaborate security arrangements for the roadshow of the T20 World Cup winning Indian cricket team in Mumbai on Thursday evening. A large number of fans are expected to gather to catch a glimpse of the players. The world champion team will take part in the roadshow in an open bus followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in south Mumbai.

Victory Parade from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium
An official said on Wednesday that the Vijay Yatra will be taken out from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium between 5 pm and 7 pm. he/she said that a large number of people are expected to gather for this program. Therefore, the police is taking extreme caution to avoid any untoward incident. Traffic has been diverted on many routes. The entire route has been sealed in view of the Victory Parade.

The official said that adequate security arrangements are being made on Marine Drive between Nariman Point and Wankhede Stadium. Earlier, the Indian cricket team returned home from Barbados in a special plane. Amid continuous drizzle, fans welcomed the players warmly at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi and during this time there was heavy security so that fans could not get close to the players. The Indian team’s return from Barbados was delayed due to storm Beryl.

Events at Wankhede Stadium
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla said that the team will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his/her residence at 11 am. After this, the team will fly to Mumbai where a ceremony will be held. he/she said that there will be a road show in an open bus from Nariman Point and later we will honor the players by giving them prize money of Rs 125 crore as announced. On Saturday, the Indian team gave the country its second T20 World Cup title, ending the 11-year wait for the ICC trophy. India had earlier won the Champions Trophy in 2013 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
