New Delhi. India has hit the winning punch in the T20 World Cup 2024. In its second match of the Super 8, Team India defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs. In this match played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, India defeated Bangladesh in every department. With this victory, the Indian team has taken a strong step towards the semi-finals. India has overtaken Australia to reach number one in the points table of Group A of the Super 8 stage with 4 points. The Indian team is still undefeated in this World Cup. India has won all its five matches played in the current World Cup. Team India will take on Australia on June 24 in its third and final match of the Super 8.

Bangladesh, chasing the target, could only score 146 runs for 8 wickets. Bangladesh suffered the first blow at a score of 35. Hardik Pandya gave Bangladesh the first blow by getting Liton Das caught by Suryakumar Yadav. Liton was dismissed after scoring 13 runs off 10 balls. Tanjid Hasan was dismissed LBW by Kuldeep Yadav. Tanjid scored 31 runs off 29 balls. Shakib Al Hasan was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for 11 runs. Jasprit Bumrah got Nazmul Hussain Shanto caught by Arshdeep Singh near the boundary on a personal score of 40. Zakir Ali returned to the pavilion after scoring 1 run. he/she was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh. Bangladesh lost its seventh wicket in the form of Rishad. Bumrah got Rishad caught by Rohit. Arshdeep got Mahmudullah caught by Arshdeep on a personal score of 13 runs.

Hardik hit fifty in 27 balls
Earlier, India scored 196 runs for 5 wickets due to Hardik Pandya’s fiery half-century and the excellent performance of the batsmen under his/her leadership. For India, Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 50 runs in 27 balls with four fours and three sixes. Virat Kohli scored 37, Rishabh Pant scored 36 and Shivam Dubey scored 34 runs. For Bangladesh, Tanjim Hasan Sakib scored 32 while Rishad Hussain took two wickets for 43 runs.

Shanto won the toss and asked India to bat first
Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto won the toss and invited India to bat first. After which captain Rohit Sharma (23 runs, 11 balls, three fours, one six) and Virat Kohli gave the team a quick start. Bangladesh started the bowling with the spin duo of Mehdi Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan (one wicket for 37 runs). Rohit hit fours on Mehdi Hasan and Shakib. he/she and Kohli also hit a six on Shakib. However, Rohit, while trying to play another big shot on Shakib’s ball, waved the ball in the air and got caught by Zakir Ali.

Kohli hit a six off Mustafizur to take the score to 53 in the powerplay
Kohli took India’s score to 53 runs for one wicket in the power play with a six on Mustafizur. Kohli welcomed Rishhad with a straight six while Pant also hit a four on this leg spinner. Kohli missed the straight ball of fast bowler Tanjim and was bowled. he/she faced 28 balls and hit three sixes and a four. Suryakumar Yadav (06) hit a six on the very first ball on Tanjim but was caught by wicketkeeper Liton Das on the next ball.

India completed 150 runs in the 17th over
India scored 83 runs for three wickets in 10 overs. Pant completed India’s century by hitting two fours and a six off Mustafizur in the 11th over. he/she hit a six and a four off consecutive balls of Rishad in the next over but got caught by Tanjim at short third man while trying to reverse sweep the next ball. Pant faced 24 balls and hit four fours and two sixes. Hardik Pandya showed his/her attitude by hitting a six and a four off consecutive balls of Mehdi Hasan while Shubham Dubey also completed the team’s 150 runs in the 17th over with a six off Shakib and Tanjim. Dubey also hit a six off Rishad but was bowled off the next ball. he/she hit three sixes in his/her 24-ball innings. Hardik hit sixes off Rishad and Tanjim and completed his/her half-century in 27 balls with three fours off Mustafizur in the last over.
