Tata Group to employ 4,000 women from Uttarakhand in manufacturing sector




Tata Group is set to hire 4,000 women technicians from Uttarakhand for its components manufacturing and assembly plants in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The state employment department on Monday received a letter from the Tata Group, indicating that the recruitment process under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) programmes will begin soon in the state.

The Uttarakhand government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami is continuously working to connect the youth with employment opportunities.

According to the letter, this recruitment drive is for Tata’s plants located at Hosur in Tamil Nadu and Kolar in Karnataka under the NAPS and NATS programmes.

As per the eligibility criteria for NAPS, the candidates must have passed class 10th or 12th, whereas for NATS the candidates must have passed class 10th, class 12th or have an ITI Diploma.

Candidates will have to undergo a test for selection. According to the letter from Tata Group, successful candidates will be appointed as shop floor technicians.

Apart from the fixed salary, the selected candidates will be provided with accommodation, food and transport facilities. Other benefits will also be provided as per the company policy.

All the selected technicians will be employed under the Apprenticeship Act 1961. Based on their qualifications, they will be given appointment letters under NAPS and NATS schemes.

“The candidates will be appointed as Shop Floor Technician in Precision Electronics Assembly. Their role will involve operating highly sophisticated and automated machines under supervision,” the letter said.

Food, accommodation and transport will be arranged by the company. (ANI)
