Producer Guneet Monga’s film ‘The Elephant Whispers’ has won the Oscar Award in the short film category at the 95th Academy Awards. After which this film and its story are being talked about everywhere. The story of this short film is based on Hathi and his/her caretakers Baman and Bela. Today Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has honored both the caretakers of the elephant, Baman and Bela, and given Rs 1 lakh as reward. Photos have been shared from Chief Minister MK Stalin’s Twitter account honoring Boman and Bela, along with which a tweet has also been written.

Chief Minister MK Stalin’s tweet read, ‘#TheElephantWhisperers #AcademyAwards and our forestry work is known globally. In appreciation of Mr. Boman-Bailey, I gave Rs 1 lakh and announced Rs 1 lakh each to the 91. 9.10 crores for construction of houses and workers of Theppakkad and Kozhikmuthi elephant camps.

CM will build houses for Mahavats and Kavadis

The chief minister has also ordered payment of Rs one lakh each to all 91 mahouts and kavadis in Mudumalai and Annamalai elephant camps in Tamil Nadu. The amount will be distributed from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. Stalin has also announced financial assistance of Rs 9.10 crore for the construction of houses for mahouts and kavadis.

Director praises ‘The Elephant Whispers’

Kartiki Gonsalves, director of the documentary film ‘The Elephant Whispers’, expressed his/her gratitude for this love and respect and wrote, ‘It was a pleasure and a great pride to see Boman and Bailey being honored by our Chief Minister MK Stalin.’ Let us tell you that Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone had arrived as a presenter for the 95th Academy Award function this year. Apart from the film ‘The Elephant Whispers’, the hit song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s film ‘RRR’ has received an Oscar in the Original Song category.
