Tamil film industry will be closed from 1 November 2024! The association has decided not to make any new movies

The first half of the year 2024 has not been good for the film industry. Apart from a few films, from Bollywood to South, one after the other big films have proved to be flops. On the other hand, given the growing craze of OTT, many films are becoming available on streaming platforms just a few weeks after their release in theaters. Obviously, this has changed the trend of the audience and this is also a matter of concern for both film exhibitors and the industry. All these were discussed in detail in the recent meeting of the Tamil Film Producers Association (TFPC). It was also discussed that in this period of loss, the outstanding money of the actors and crew members should also be paid. But in this meeting, a decision has been taken which may surprise the fans. It has been said that all shootings should be banned from November 1. This meeting, organized under the aegis of the Tamil Film Producers Association (TFPC), took place in Chennai. It was attended by several industry leaders and executives, including the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association, Tamil Nadu Multiplex Owners Association and Tamil Nadu Film Distributors. After the discussion, the association has suggested six solutions to address the concerns.

1. Everyone in the meeting With the consent of, it has been decided that any big star’s film should be released on OTT only after 8 weeks (2 months) of its release in theatres.

2. This in the meeting It has also come to light that some actors and technicians, after taking advance from some production companies, go to work for other production companies. This leads to huge losses. Therefore, it would be better if the actors or technicians complete their old projects before working on a new project. This especially mentions actor Dhanush, who has taken advance money from several producers at once. Producers have been appealed to consult the Tamil Film Producers Association before starting work on the actor’s new films.

3. TFPC has done this he/she also said that he/she is working on a new rule so that films get a full chance in theatres. After the implementation of the new rules, it will be decided that after 16.8.2024, no actor should work on any new film without information.

4. Tamil film producer The association has appealed to the producers to inform the association before starting any new project. Also, complete the shooting of the old films by 30 October.

5. Actors and Actresses There are also preparations to regularize the fees of the film director, salary of technicians and other rising expenses. For this, the Tamil film industry will be reorganized. It has been decided by mutual consent in the meeting that all types of work related to the shooting of Tamil cinema will be stopped from 01.11.2024.

6. Along with this A joint action committee of producers, distributors and theatre owners has been formed to resolve future issues related to the film industry.

Dhanush called himself an outsider, said- he/she lives on the streets, people showed him/her the mirror on social media

By the way, this is not the first time that Tamil cinema is being shut down due to its irregularities. Earlier in 2018, multiplex and single screen theater owners had gone on strike on the issue of sharing in the profits of producers. But this time TFPC has taken these decisions against actors and technicians.
