Drass (Kargil) : Prime Minister on Kargil Vijay Diwas Narendra Modi PM Modi paid tribute to the martyrs at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass and also warned Pakistan. PM said that in Kargil we did not just win the war, we showed a wonderful example of truth, patience and strength. Modi said that India was trying for peace at that time, but in return Pakistan once again showed its untrustworthy face. he/she said that Pakistan had to face defeat in all its evil attempts in the past but Pakistan has not learnt anything from its history. PM told how Kashmir-Ladakh is changing

PM virtually started the construction work of Sinkun La tunnel being built on Nimu-Padam-Darcha road. he/she said that through this tunnel, Ladakh will remain connected to the country throughout the year in every season. he/she also mentioned the Zojila tunnel being built on Srinagar-Leh highway and said that after its construction, there will be all-weather connectivity on this route as well. PM said that BRO has completed more than 330 infrastructure projects in three years.

Tribute to the martyrs on Kargil Vijay Diwas

The Prime Minister said that Kargil Vijay Diwas tells us that the sacrifices made for the nation are immortal. Centuries pass but the names of those who put their lives at stake to protect the nation remain immortal. he/she said that this country is indebted to the valiant heroes of our army. I am fortunate that during the Kargil war, I was among our soldiers like a common citizen. Those memories are fresh in my mind. I remember that our army carried out such a difficult operation at this height.

PM Modi remembered the martyrs in Ladakh

Before this, the aircraft of the three armies paid tribute to the martyrs by doing a flypast. Cheetal and LAH helicopters did a flypast. The pilots of the three armies flew these and gave the message of jointness. The Air Force’s MI-17 and the Navy’s long-range reconnaissance aircraft P8i also did a flypast. The Air Force’s 3 MiG, 3 Jaguar and Rafale fighter jets flew in the missing man formation. A Rafale did a vertical Charlie maneuver. The Army Chief, Air Force Chief, Navy Chief and CDS also paid tribute to the martyrs.
