Taiwan, Poland sign MoU to promote drone industry cooperation

Taiwan’s government-backed Drone Supply Chain Alliance and the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Saturday, an important step in advancing the global drone industry.

The collaboration underlines Taiwan’s ambition to become a major hub for drone production and innovation in the Asia-Pacific region, Taiwan News reports.

Poland is the second ally to join the alliance after the United States. The Ministry of Economic Affairs emphasized the global trend of looking for partnerships beyond China in the rapidly growing drone market.

Hu Kai-hung, chairman of the Taiwanese alliance, highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative, saying, “The alliance is an important gateway for international companies seeking partnerships in Taiwan.”

Taiwan’s drone industry has set ambitious goals, with President Lai Ching-tey projecting the sector’s output value to reach NTD 30 billion (US$922 million) by 2028, Taiwan News reports.

The alliance plans to produce more than 10,000 drones per month, cementing its role as Asia-Pacific’s first drone supply chain hub. Hu further noted the synergy between Taiwan and Poland, saying the partnership could “combine their strengths to promote drone development and production.”

Bartlomiej Dobosz, President of the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce, welcomed the partnership, expressing Poland’s honor to join the alliance. “We hope to promote mutual exchange of technologies to advance drone development,” Doboz said, signaling a commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation in the technology sector.

The agreement reflects Taiwan’s growing influence in the global drone market and its ability to collaborate with international partners to achieve technological innovation and development, Taiwan News reports.
