New Delhi: The Mahakumbh Mela, which started on 13 January in Sangam city Prayagraj, was being operated well, but on the night of 28 January, there was a stampede. Some devotees were reported to be heaven while some were reported injured in the incident. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the devotees as well as saints and mahants not to pay attention to the rumors. The Chief Minister has said that devotees should not insist on taking a bath on the Sangam nose so that there is no possibility of any kind of accident. On the other hand, former Chief Minister of the state and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused of mismanagement at the fair. At the same time, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and former Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi has also held the responsibility for the stampede. Let us know what kind of management has been done to keep the fair organized in Mahakumbh.
Six days special bath
The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has projected an average of 1 crore people per day at the 45 -day Mahakumbh Mela. Paush Purnima (13 January), Makar Sankranti (14 January), Mouni Amavasya (29 January), Basant Panchami (February 03), Maghi Purnima (12 February), Maha Shivaratri (26 February). It was also estimated to be more. In these days too, everyone knew about the day of Mauni Amavasya on 29 January. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also said that about 6 crore devotees can attend the Mahakumbh Mela on the day of Mauni Amavasya, but the government has made arrangements for management of 10 crore people.
Most crowds on Mauni Amavasya
According to estimates, on the day of Mauni Amavasya, devotees from every corner of the country and the world reached Prayagraj for a holy bath in Mahakumbh. Due to the huge crowd, bathing started on Wednesday night. In Prayagraj, where the Ganga-Yamuna and the extinct Saraswati river have been confluent, saints take bath. Because of this it is considered the holiest ghat of Prayagraj. A crowd of devotees gathered for bathing at this ghat and a stampede occurred at Sangam Noj at around 1.30 pm. Now CM Yogi Adityanath appealed that the pilgrims should go there, not to take a bath at any one ghat.
Special preparation for Mouni Amavasya
A fair area has been built in about the hectare for Prayaraj Mahakumbh. On Mauni Amavasya, the place was extended on the river banks only by estimating the arrival of a large number of devotees so that two lakh devotees could bathe every hour. Earlier this capacity was only 50 thousand devotees. The crowd came so much that by morning, three crore devotees took a bath in Mahakumbh.
Mahakumbh area declared district, heavy security arrangements
The Uttar Pradesh government declared the Mahakumbh Mela campus as the 76th district of the state. The Mahakumbh city situated in an area of about 4,000 hectares is divided into 25 sectors. Of these, 56 police stations and 144 posts have been built and about 40 thousand personnel of security forces are deployed. Every police station has a cyber desk. Not only this, two cyber police stations have also been built separately. Mahakumbh SSP Rajesh Dwivedi had said, “Civil police, PAC, NSG, STF, Home Guard, Defense and NGOs will be handled by more than 50 thousand people in the fair.” Mahakumbh is a seven -tier security system that deploys NSG commandos and UP Police personnel.
Along with soldiers, drone and AI cameras also deployed
To ensure safety, the fair has AI -containing cameras that count people. If there is a place of 2 thousand people standing in an area, then the concerned officer will get information as soon as 1,800 people are there. In addition, 100 face recognition cameras have been installed. The suspects can be easily identified in the police records. 2,700 CCTV cameras have been installed. At the same time, the entire fair area is being monitored by drone. For the first time under the river, deep barricading has been done for under the river for underwater protection. If someone is lost in the fair, then there are high-tech 10 lost-prie centers for help.
Not only safety but also facilities
In Mahakumbh, special attention has been paid to the safety of devotees as well as their facilities. About 1.50 lakh tents, three thousand kitchens, 1.45 lakh toilets, 300 mobile toilets and more than 100 parking sites have been built in the fair area. Apart from these, about Rs 7,000 crore has been spent in the development and beautification of Prayagraj’s infrastructure. Along with 14 road over bridge and road under bridge, 61 roads have been built. Apart from these, beautification of 40 intersections and railway line expansion has been constructed. At the same time, 30 pantoon bridges were built. Of these, 15 bridges are built very close to the Sangam. There are about 10 thousand changing rooms at 41 ghats. More than 300 divers are deployed on all gats to deal with the emergency.
Prime Minister Modi became active
Despite such a widespread system, not only UP, the central government also came into alert mode. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath four times after the accident.
Question on arrangement
On the other hand, the opposition is engaged in counting deficiencies. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has said that this stampede occurred due to chaos.
At the same time, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi also claimed that in the Mahakumbh, ‘for this tragic incident, it is responsible for the administration to pay special attention to the mismanagement, misconduct and common devotees in place of the VIP movement.’
Move the economy with Mahakumbh
About 7,500 crore rupees are being spent on organizing a quiet and safe Mahakumbh fair. The Uttar Pradesh government fixed the budget of Mahakumbh at Rs 5,060 crore while the central government has given Rs 2,100 crore. It is estimated that an income of Rs 2 lakh crore is estimated from Mahakumbh. According to the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) report, India’s religious economy is Rs 3.02 lakh crore, which is about 2.3 % of the country’s GDP (GDP).
Due to Mahakumbh, the economy of not only these areas but also Prayagraj and UP has started shining. According to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), Uttar Pradesh is expected to earn more than Rs 2 lakh crore from the 45 -day mega event. However, according to some estimates, per capita expenses in Mahakumbh can reach Rs 10,000, which can reach a total economic activity up to Rs 4 lakh crore. This is expected to increase the state’s GDP by more than 1 percent.
