T20 World Cup: Will India host the Women’s World Cup in October, situation worsened in Bangladesh…

New Delhi. After the chaos spread in Bangladesh, the organization of the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup is in danger. According to the pre-decided schedule, the Women’s T20 World Cup is to be held in Bangladesh. It has to host this tournament from October 3. Looking at the latest situation, it does not seem that Bangladesh will be able to organize the Women’s T20 World Cup. Since then, there has been talk of an alternate host.

Due to the violence in Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to resign and leave the country. Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zama said that now the interim government will take over the power of the country in Bangladesh. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is keeping an eye on the chaos spread in Bangladesh. An ICC board member said that the situation is being closely monitored. There are still seven weeks left for the tournament to start. In such a situation, it is too early to comment on whether the tournament will be shifted from Bangladesh or not.

According to the website ‘Cricinfo’, the ICC has started thinking about an alternate host. India, UAE and Sri Lanka are the options for this. India and Sri Lanka have sufficient resources and if any of these two get the opportunity, the event will be organized easily. UAE will have to be informed a little earlier so that it can prepare.

India can be the first option against Sri Lanka. The reason for this is that Sri Lanka receives more rainfall in October. On the other hand, the rainy season in India ends on 15 September. For this reason, organizing the Women’s T20 World Cup in India can be a better decision.
