T20 World Cup: The thrill of Super-8 starts today, will South Africa ‘choke’ or America… the ‘hidden warrior’ in front of India

New Delhi. The real thrill of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be seen after a few hours when the Super-8 matches will start. Out of the 20 teams that entered the tournament, 8 have qualified for this Super-8 stage. The first match of the Super-8 is going to be played between South Africa and America from 8 pm on Wednesday. The US team, which was considered weak on paper, has made it to the Super-8 by defeating Pakistan and Canada.

After defeating Pakistan and Canada, America had given a tough fight to India as well. This is the reason that even though the match between South Africa and America may not seem equal on paper, cricket lovers are very interested in it. And why not. If America has made an upset and reached the Super-8 round of the T20 World Cup, then South Africa also has a history of ‘choking’. In this World Cup, South Africa’s team had narrowly escaped defeat against the Netherlands. It was able to win by just one run against the novice Netherlands.

Kane Williamson also followed Bolt’s path, rejected the central contract, left the captaincy, what will New Zealand do now?

Let us tell you that 8 teams in Super-8 have been divided into two groups. Group One has India, Australia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Group B has South Africa and America as well as host West Indies and England. Out of the 8 teams of Super-8, 4 will qualify for the semi-finals.

India’s first match in Super-8 will be against Afghanistan, which is considered the ‘dark horse’. The India-Afghanistan match will be played on 20 June in Bridgetown, Barbados. The pitch of Bridgetown is different and better than the American pitches. The Australian team has already scored 201 runs against England in Bridgetown in this tournament. In such a situation, a score of more than 150 can be expected in the match between India and Afghanistan.

All the matches in India’s Super-8 will be played at 8 pm (Indian time). After Afghanistan, India will play against Bangladesh on 22 June. After this, the Indian team will play against Australia on 24 June. The semi-finals of the T20 World Cup will be played on 27 June and the final on 29 June.
