New Delhi. In the T20 World Cup 2024, Canada defeated Ireland by 12 runs in a thrilling match. Ireland needed 17 runs to win in the last over. But chasing the target of 138 runs, the Ireland team could only score 125 runs for 7 wickets. Jeremy Gordon gave away only 4 runs while taking a wicket in the last over. In this way Canada won the match. Like America, Indians also played a big role in making Canada win.

There were a total of 4 players of Indian origin in Canada’s playing XI team. These included players like Navneet Dhaliwal, Pragat Singh, Dilpreet Bajwa and Shreyas Movva. All these players come from Punjab (India). Navneet Dhaliwal is the opener of the Canadian team. he/she scored 6 runs in this match. While batting, Dilpreet Bajwa scored 7 runs and Pragat Singh scored 18 runs. Shreyas Movva impressed the most.

Movva hit three fours in his/her 36-ball innings before getting run out on the last ball. For Ireland, Craig Young and Barry McCarty took two wickets each while Mark Adair and Gareth Delany got one wicket each.

Talking about Ireland’s innings, Ireland had a very bad start while chasing the target of 138. The team led by Paul Stirling lost 5 wickets at a score of 53. Opener Andrew Balbirnie was out after scoring 17 runs while captain Stirling returned to the pavilion at 9 runs. Lorcan Tucker contributed 10 runs while Harry Tector was out after scoring 7 runs. Curtis Campher scored 4 runs while Gareth Delany scored 3 runs. For Canada, Dillon took 2 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs.
