T20 World Cup champion will be rich, ICC has doubled the prize money, know the full prize money

New Delhi. The team that wins the T20 World Cup will not only take the trophy with them, but will also get a huge prize money. The ICC has announced a record prize money of $11.25 million (about Rs 93.51 crore) for the T20 World Cup. Out of this, the winner will be given $2.45 million (about Rs 20 crore 36 lakh).

The runner-up team of T20 World Cup 2024 will get $1.28 million. The teams losing the semi-finals of the tournament will be given $7,87,500. Last time the total prize money was $5.6 million, out of which the winner England got $1.6 million. However, if compared to IPL 2024, the prize money of T20 World Cup is slightly higher. The IPL champion was given a prize money of Rs 20 crore.

ICC issued a statement saying, ‘The winner of the ninth season of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will get 2.45 million dollars as prize money. This is the highest prize money in the history of the tournament. Apart from this, the trophy will also be given after the final in Barbados on June 29.’ Each of the four teams that could not go beyond Super-8 will be given 3,82,500 dollars. The teams from ninth to 12th place will get 2,47,500 dollars and the teams from 13th to 20th place will get 2,25,000 dollars. ICC said, ‘Each team will get 31,154 dollars for winning each match (except semi-finals and finals).’

The 55-match tournament will be played over 28 days at nine venues in the US and West Indies. For the first time, 20 teams are participating in it. After 40 matches in the first round, the top eight teams will advance to the Super Eight. Four of those teams will play the semi-finals.
