T20 World cup 2024: Namibia won in Super Over, Oman suffered its first defeat, the match was exciting

New Delhi. The T20 World Cup has started. The third match was played between Oman and Namibia. Namibia registered a spectacular victory in this match.
After losing the toss and batting first, Oman’s team could score 109 runs in 19.4 overs. While chasing, Namibia also scored 109 runs in 20 overs. This match was decided by a super over.

Namibia’s captain Gerhard Erasmus won the toss and decided to field first. Oman’s team came out to bat first. Oman’s openers Kashyap Prajapati and Naseem Khushi got out cheaply. Kashyap scored 0 while Naseem scored 6 runs. Captain Aqib Lyas, who came at number three, lost his/her wicket on the very first ball. Jisan Maqsood and Khalil Kail handled the Oman innings. Jisan scored 22 while Khalil scored 34 runs. Ayan Khan scored 15 runs. In this way, his/her team could score only 109 runs in 20 overs.

For Namibia, 26-year-old bowler Ruben Trumpelman bowled brilliantly in 4 overs and took a total of 4 wickets. David VJ took 3 wickets. Bernard Scholz took 1 wicket while Gerhard Erasmus took 2 wickets. Now it was Namibia’s turn to chase.

Good batting was seen between Nicholas Devin and Jan Frylink from Namibia’s side. But after both of them were out, the team faltered and wickets kept falling continuously. Mehran Khan took 2 wickets in the last over. Namibia needed 2 runs on the last ball of the last over. But they could score only 1 run. In this way the match was tied.

Namibia came out to bat first in the super over. They scored 21 runs on the basis of the brilliant batting of David VJ and captain Gerhard Eramus. But the Oman team could not chase it. In this way, Oman had to face defeat in this match.
