The Australian team scored 201 runs against the English team led by Jos Butler. In response, the English team could only score 165 runs for 6 wickets.

Australia and England are in Group B of the T20 World Cup. Australia’s team defeated England and is at the top of the group with 4 points. England has only one point after two matches and is at the fourth position in the points table. In the same group, Scotland is at the second position with 3 points and Namibia (2) is at the third position. The top-2 teams from each group will enter the Super-8.

To make it to the Super-8, England will not only have to win both of their remaining matches, but they will also have to keep an eye on Scotland’s matches. If Scotland wins one more match and their net run rate is better, then England will be out of the T20 World Cup title race.

Mitchell Marsh (35), Travis Head (34), Marcus Stoinis (30) and Glenn Maxwell (28) played innings. Matthew Wade scored 17 and Tim David scored 11 runs.

England started off well while chasing the target of 202 runs. Captain and opener Jos Buttler (42) and Phil Salt (37) laid a good foundation for the team by scoring 73 runs in 7.1 overs, but the later batsmen could not take advantage of it. England had to face defeat due to the middle order faltering. The entire English team could only score 165 runs for 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
